Northampton County Dump Truck Driver Dies Days After Crash That Also Killed Passenger

A Northampton County dump truck driver was pronounced dead at the hospital several days after a crash that also killed his passenger, authorities announced.

Bobby Johnson, 66, was driving a dump truck that collided with another vehicle and hit a traffic sign support post near East 4th Street and Emery Street in Bethlehem shortly before 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, authorities said.

Johnson, of Hellertown, was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem and pronounced dead just after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15.

Meanwhile, front seat passenger David Polczer, 57, of Bethlehem, died from blunt force trauma at St. Luke’s Hospital about an hour after the crash, DailyVoice.com reported.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bethlehem Police Department.
